So a few of the international students invited me out, but I decided to stay in to get some personal work done. 12 o’clock reached, I got a lot done and they were still out.
I thought I really should get some sleep, but I recently create my own quote ‘Never turn down an opportunity, every opportunity is an experience, ever experience is a gain.’ – Ellis Dagnall. And thats just what I told myself.
I met up with them and they were hanging with 2 people I have never met, one of which was a produces called Alex Gundlach. It turned out to be a nice surprise, he was from Chicago and was a humours guy. We talked music, got deep, and he said this:
‘Your going on a liner path, and there’s going to be a lot of other people choosing a similar path, but your focused on your own. At every step you always meet a perpendicular path, you should be ready to recognise that perpendicular path as something new and creative, which steers your path. Creating a cross section off innervation, and you move forward from that.’
‘If your approached with something different from your ideas or your path, it abeles you to open up your mind, a little bit more. If you’re talking to the same dudes on the path as you, you’re all doing the same shit.’
I just thought it was wonderful. I thought it was a different take on life’s journey, It was inspiring to hear, specially as a creative person, your always evolving and questioning it.
I think this just answers my quote brilliantly. Just goes to show, never say No. If I didn’t meet up with them, I would have never met these two intelligent people, I learnt a lot from. I would have never made contacts, and would of never made this illustration to tell this story.
